Summer is in full swing here at the Bed and Breakfast! There is always a project to do on the farm and we are happy that the beautiful weather has enabled us to make some progress on our to-do list.
With the warmer weather, the flowers are all out of the green house and now decorating the property. The dahlia bed is complete and the first shoots are starting to poke their way through to sunshine in the new flower bed alongside the pond. We love to cut our own fresh flowers for guests to enjoy.
The new dock that Luke built this winter is adorned with flowers and there are two Adirondack chairs where guests can sit and enjoy the view. The bass population is thriving and it’s a fun place to enjoy a slow minute and watch the fish below the surface.
In the garden, the tomatoes are doing fabulously. We anticipate having a very healthy crop this year. Unfortunately, we lost most of our cantaloupe and corn. We are waiting to see if the plants will make it through to July. We love serving our guests fresh fruits and veggies from the garden. It’s a great time to start planning some new recipes for the Bed and Breakfast menu and we anticipate serving up omelets with fresh heirloom tomatoes! Yum!
We are excited to have refinished the front porch with a fresh coat of paint! This has been on my to-do list since day one, so I am especially pleased that we have accomplished it. The front porch is my favorite place to enjoy a hot cup of coffee and watch the hummingbirds in the morning. The front flower bed is doing well and we are happy to have many pollinator plants for bees, hummingbirds and butterflies to enjoy. There is always something to see!
Summer is such a lovely time to be here. If you need a rejuvenating escape, we are happy to share a relaxing Vermont getaway experience in this verdant time of year. Check our availability page. We hope to see you soon!
